A motorcycle icon, the Ducati Scrambler 450 was born in 1969 as a fusion between the European and American taste of the time, as the American market was asking for a road bike also suitable for dirt tracks. Today this older sister of the Ducati family (which also include the 250 and 350cc) represents a real worship object. Its slim and elegant lines introduced new level of beauty in the world and the bright yellow color with contrasting chrome on the tank entered the collective imagination, going well beyond the boundaries of pure enthusiasts; anyone would simply turn around to admire this bike ride by. The high handlebars and the 140 kg weight make agility the strong point of this bike; the position on the seat provides a feeling of immediacy and the reasonable braking, combined with the effectiveness of the engine brake, allows you to tackle curve after curve with great fluency. Such is the satisfaction and pleasure in riding that the limited engine power and vibrations certainly take a back seat. All of this is accompanied by the unmistakable sound of the short “salami slice” exhaust. Kick starting requires a precise sequence of actions, but we’d be happy to prove how false his reputation as "kicking ankles" is, when the bike is well positioned and you kick firmly. The gear lever to the right with the first up initially requires a certain concentration in getting used to, but our touring pace will forgive any possible uncertainty.
